Electronic Vacuum Gauge

Electronic Vacuum Gauges

Glasstech offers Electronic vacuum gauge of two types covering the range of 10 to 10-7 torr, suitable for industrial and research purpose.

Pirani guages measure 10 to 10-3 torr or 1 to 10-4 torr and operate by measuring the changing resistance of a heated filament as its temperature changes due to cooling by the surrounding gas by a Wheatstone bridge.

0 ring sealed high vacuum coupling connects the gauge head to the vacuum system. The control unit with a sensitive meter with calibration in torr or millibar with an IC controlled stabilizer maintains constant voltage in the bridge.

Pirani gauges are also avialable with additional facility for process control. The level at which the control relay is energised on an increasing pressure is set by adjustment of potentiometers accessible through the front panel of the control unit.

Penning guages with a range of 10-2 to 10-6 torr or 10-3 to 10-7 torr are Cole cathode ionization gauges using magnetic field to increase the sensitivity.

The gauge head with metal housing contains the glass envelope with electrodes, low sputtering material, permanent magnets and screwed high vacuum coupling is connected to the control unit by a special cable. The mains operated control unit incorporates a sensitive meter directly calibrated to indicate the vaccum.
